Kojic Acid Dipalmitate (KAD) is a diesterified derivative of Kojic Acid. It is considered to be superior to Kojic Acid in its whitening ability and is more stable than Kojic Acid in cosmetic formulations.

By inhibiting tyrosinase activity, Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is capable of suppressing skin pigmentation. Its ability to suppress melanin formation makes it effective in whitening dark skin, or areas of dark skin. Its effects have been boosted when used in combination with glucosamine derivatives like N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG).

Kojic Acid Dipalmitate has good stability in heat and light, with no color change.

Benefits

Stable from pH 3 to 10

Does not complex with metal ions and will not change color

Light and heat stable

Compatible with most cosmetic ingredients.

Applications

Sunscreens and after-sun products

Makeup products

Skin lightening products

Anti-aging products

Creams and lotions

INCI: Kojic Acid Dipalmitate

Kojic Acid Dipalmitate (KAD) can tend to form a crystal precipitate in some cosmetic formulations. It is recommended to add Isopropyl Palmitate or Isopropyl Myristate to the oil phase containing KAD and heat to 80°C (167°F) and hold for 5 minutes until the KAD dissolves completely. Then add the oil phase to the aqueous phase and emulsify for about 10 minutes.

Typical usage rate: 1 – 5%, typically 3-5% in whitening products
Appearance: White to almost white crystalline powder
Solubility: Insoluble in water, soluble in oil

Paraffin Wax is a solid substance derived from either one of Petroleum, Coal, or Shale. It consists of a mixture of Hydrocarbon molecules with anywhere between twenty and forty Carbon atoms. It has a very unreactive nature. Fully Refined Paraffin Wax contains less than ≤0.8% Oil and is made free of impurities and discolouration by hydro-treating or clay-treating them. As the refined grade of Paraffin Wax goes down, the Oil content increases up to 1.5%. Fully Refined Paraffin Wax is free of water and odour and is deemed a food grade substance. It has a clearly defined crystal structure and is hard and brittle in appearance. It has good physical stability and cannot be deformed easily.

Usage:
Three major industries that use Fully Refined Paraffin Wax are the Cosmetics, Medical, and Food Industries. The Candle Making Industry also uses Fully Refined Paraffin Wax. Common items manufactured that use Paraffin Wax are Lipsticks, Cream, Oily Papers, and Chocolate.

Candles made using Fully Refined Paraffin Wax are of the highest grade and are the most expensive.

This pastille beeswax comes in the form of yellow beads, as it has been filtered and cleaned. Filtering makes it free from insect body parts and stingers. Note: This wax has a smoky scent from smoking the bees out of their hives to harvest the wax. Commonly used in wax tarts, lotion bars, lip balms and CP Soap.

Why People Use This Product:
Base product for lip and lotion bar formulations. Natural look and feel.

Popular Products That Use This Ingredient:
Lip Balm. Fragrance Balm. Solid Lotion. Furniture Polish. CP Soap. Air Freshener Tarts.

Interesting Fact: May have a smokey odor.

Physical Form: Yellow Pastilles
Solubility: Insoluble in Water
International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):
Beeswax

Directions:
Lip Products: Melt beeswax in double boiler or small pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and flavor oil. Mix well. Pour into lip tubes, small jars or other lip product packaging. View our Lip Product Recipes for detailed instructions.

Lotion Bars: Melt beeswax in double boiler or pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and fragrance. Mix well. Pour into the mold or lotion bar container at an appropriate temperature for mold or packaging. Allow mixture to solidify. View our Lotion Bar Recipes for detailed instructions.

Air Fresheners: Melt equal parts beeswax and palm kernel flakes (102? melt) in a small pot on low heat. Remove from heat. Incorporate fragrance. Pour into mold at an appropriate temperature for the mold. Allow mixture to solidify. Unmold and enjoy. View our Air Freshener Recipes for detailed instructions.

CP Soap: Use at about 1-3% of your oils and calculate with your oils in a lye calculator. Beeswax has a high melt point so raise the temperature of the oils to about 160?F or 170?F before mixing it in. It is necessary to soap hotter, around 120?F, and be prepared for accelerated trace. Follow one of our CP Soap Recipes with Beeswax for more detailed instructions.
The post Beeswax – Yellow Pastille first appeared on Valley Blossoms.

Jojoba (liquid) (Simmondsia chinensis): Jojoba is very similar in composition to human natural skin oils. It penetrates the skin rapidly to nourish it and also softens and moisturizes mature and dry skin. Jojoba helps to heal inflamed skin conditions such as psoriasis or any form of dermatitis, helps control acne and oily scalps. Since it has antioxidant properties, it can keep other oils from going rancid. We offer you 100% pure jojoba, the extract of seeds produced by the jojoba plant which is expeller pressed, once. No solvents are used during this process.
Jojoba is sometimes called “jojoba oil” when it is actually an extract; it?s not an oil at all but a liquid wax ester. Our pure jojoba is pasteurized and then filtered to prevent bacteria growth. Jojoba can be decolored and deodorized; ours is neither. Our pure jojoba is a beautiful golden yellow/amber with its own aroma. Its aroma and color will vary slightly from one crop year to the next. It does not contain fillers, stabilizers, enhancers or preservatives; it contains the seed?s antioxidants, is non-allergenic and won?t stain linens or clothing.
Jojoba is highly concentrated, don?t apply it like a lotion. Put a small drop on the back of your hand and massage it in until you learn how much works for you. It?s gentle enough for newborn babies; soothes and restores elasticity to any dry skin area. It?s very good in cases of psoriasis, for massage and aromatherapy, scalp/hair care and for hands/cuticles. For shaving legs and faces, just moisten the skin and massage a generous amount of our pure jojoba deeply into the area to be shaved, then rinse your razor with hot water.
The post Jojoba Oil (Golden) – 3.8oz first appeared on Valley Blossoms.

Grapeseed Oil comes from the seeds of grapes used in winemaking and is a light, thin oil that leaves skin feeling silky smooth. Grapeseed Oil is high in linoleic acid and antioxidants. Grapeseed oil has nice slip properties, making it a great addition to shaving and massage products. Our grapeseed oil is expeller expressed (no solvents are used) and is non-GMO (Genetically Modified). Grapeseed Oil is an ecologically sound product that is made from the seeds of grapes after the wine is pressed. Grapeseed oil is high in vitamin E and contains essential fatty acid and linoleic acid (also known as Omega 6).
It is low in saturated fat, contains natural chlorophyll and valuable antioxidants (known as proanthocyanidins) and has a good shelf life. This oil is very rich in vitamins and minerals. It’s a light and penetrating oil for massage and is also used to create lotions, balms, creams and soap. The skin absorbs grapeseed oil easily; it has no perceptible odor. Since it is slightly astringent, it tightens and tones the skin; will not aggravate acne.
The post Grapeseed Oil – 4oz first appeared on Valley Blossoms.
